this is possibly my favourite song on the record. i'm proud of the fact that the song builds and slow burns all the way through despite having the exact same vocal melody on every line and despite the fact that it's so sparse musically. i really like the lyric. and i like the guitar at the end - how it further articulates what's already been said. that's what music should do.
lyrics
you look so comfortable
like a chair for sitting in
or a bed for lying on
where i can rest my head
feeling sure and confident
and away from emptiness
if there's room available
if you ever invite me in
you look so comfortable
like the arms of tenderness
like the arms of tenderness
a state worth being in
in an age of weariness
you look so comfortable
you look so comfortable
I regularly walk around Las Vegas listening to this and when I have downtime at work have also been reading about The Dead People (Shayne has) Known. He has come such a long way and grown so immensely over his long career. I'm really enjoying this album a lot. It has a a lot of feeling and soul to it. Even the photo on the cover has a homey sort of feel to it. Well done. Wendy
I've been enjoying the Bats since Daddy's Highway. They keep doing what they do and I keep enjoying what they do. What else can I say? Bat's entertainment? tideracer
