Dimmer “Live At The Hollywood” features cherry picked versions from the entire Dimmer repertoire, recorded by RNZ’s Andre Upston over a sold-out three night stand in Tāmaki Makaurau. “Live performance has always been it for me,” Shayne Carter says “but I’ve usually found live recordings ropey. I was actually blown away by how good the Hollywood recordings were, and how they included angles and extrapolations on the tunes that aren’t on the original recordings. Although I stand to financially gain from the exploitation of this artefact I wholeheartedly recommend the item to the general listening public”.

CRY001 is also the first release for Shayne P Carter’s new record label Crystalator Records.

I regularly walk around Las Vegas listening to this and when I have downtime at work have also been reading about The Dead People (Shayne has) Known. He has come such a long way and grown so immensely over his long career. I'm really enjoying this album a lot. It has a a lot of feeling and soul to it. Even the photo on the cover has a homey sort of feel to it. Well done. Wendy
